Do Lip Fillers compromise your natural lips in any way?

Question

i.e. I've never had filler or anything done to my mouth/lips. I want a filler (like Juvederm), which is compatible with my body in order for natural break-down. If I were to get a filler, would it compromise my natural lips or change them unfavourably once the filler is absorbed/no longer visible? i.e. would I end up with lips worse than before I undertook filler? Hope that's clear - thanks!

Lip rejuvenation with fillers is a very common treatment but the results really depend on the doctor doing the injections. The lips should look enhanced, soft and natural. They should not be changed much. I hope that help.

i suggest you seek a filler expert who uses cannulas, this allows for less pain bruising and swelling.  it shouldnt compromise how your lips look if it s injected meticulously.  best, dr emer.

That's a good question. Fillers such
as JUVÉDERM should not compromise your natural lips. After injection, they
should look naturally larger and soft. The lower lip should always be larger
than the upper lip for a natural look. As long as you don't use any permanent
fillers, all of it should be absorbed over time. I would avoid fat, as well, because
this will last for a long time and may increase in size disproportionately with
weight gain. There are some complications possible with overuse of fillers, but
these should be rare in experienced hands. Good luck with your decision.

Fillers that are made from Hyaluronic acid (Juvederm,Restylane) will be gradually broken down by an enzyme that our bodies produce naturally. Once the product has been completely digested your tissues should return to their original state. There is a very rare but real complication of tissue death after inadvertent injection of these products into an artery. This can produce serious and permanent complications. So do your homework and make sure you choose a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has extensive experience in facial injections.

An experienced and expert physician injector using FDA approved dermal filler will not impact or compromise a patient's lips. For more precise control, restylane silk is an FDA approved product for lip augmentation.

If you have a product like hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restylane, Restylane Silk) injected by an experienced injector there won't be any long-term damage or change to your lips. If you do it once and let it dissolve on its own, your lips will simply return to the same as they were before the injections (in several months' time). "This

The HA fillers, like Juvederm and Restylane to name a few are designed to work with the body's tissue.  There isn't any downside or damage to the natural lips tissues.  I would avoid fat transfer or any of the permanent fillers.  Hope this helps.
