Answer: Review Progress on 2,100 grafts 13 Weeks Post-Op Thank you for posting your question on realself.com mickstevo1707. This is such a common question as all of us want gratification ASAP. Remember this is a process and it is just too early to see all of the growth that will come in time. Springtime flowers will fill the fields, but they are not all synchronized. It happens gradually. However, many of my patients do see this process is more rapid when their procedure is combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). I've included a link to my blog on PRP. PRP will help the existing follicles improve and promote quicker healing. Check it out!

Answer: Hair growth starts following an initial lull after transplantation Hair growth starts following an initial lull after transplantation. Transplanted follicles usually undergo a phase called “Telogen”. This is the resting phase in hair cycle and it lasts from 1 to 4 months. In certain cases the onset of growth is relatively slow which is why we give a dose of PRP to get the follicles into active phase quickly and improve hair growth. You have completed 3 months after the transplant. Few follicles might have already entered the “Anogen” or growth phase while others might have just started. You’ll have to wait six to 8 months to assess the result of the transplanted follicles. Apart from that your scalp appears normal. If you don't notice appreciable growth then I would advice you to consult with your surgeon. Also PRP might then prove to be beneficial, ask your surgeon about this.Besides, once hair growth starts, it continues to improve in thickness and quality over a period of 12 - 18 months.

Answer: 13 weeks post-op does everything look normal? Everything looks normal. You would not expect to see much with the naked eye as far as growth is concerned. Hard to assess your native hair without preop photos, though it is not overly uncommon to have a temporary decrease in density after transplantation. Give it a good 8-12 months, then visit your surgeon to assess your growth and compare to preop photos. If you aren't doing any prevention or maintenance (laser, minoxidil, finasteride) you should consider that as well.
