Is there anything I can do to get my top lip to not look like this? I have been icing quite frequently. Can I reverse the injection? I have an event tomorrow night. Will my lips still look like this? Please help!

You should start out with 1cc of juvederm filler or restylane filler and go from there. You do not want to overdo too much filler in the lips. It also depends on the look you are going for too. You can always add more filler to the lips if needed. Just remember if you are going to do your lips and you do not want to bruise you should not take any aspirins or anything that will thin the blood since brusing can occur. One syringe is typically $550.

Yes, swelling can be typical following lip fillers. It can take 1-2 weeks for final results. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Hello,Swelling is very typical and expected after lip injections and can be managed best with resting the mouth, elevating your head, avoiding high impact activity and consistently applying ice for 48 hrs. Generally after two days there is significant improvement and so rushing to dissolve the product may be hasty. Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and congratulations on your lip augmentation!  Swelling after filler placement into the lips is quite common due to the thin nature of the tissues.  This swelling, and your results, will steadily improve over the next 10-14 days.  It often takes up to 2 weeks for fillers to soften and the tissues to appear more natural.  In the meantime try reducing the swelling by using cold compresses to your lips and elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back.  You may want to also consider using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements.  Hang in there!

Lips will swell for several days after lip augmentation.  You  need to wait 2 weeks to see what the final result is.  IF needed, the filler can be removed with hyaluronidase.  In general, though, patients are surprised on how much the lips go down after a few days.  Patience!  Hope you will be happy with the results.

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs.  Sorry to hear about your experience.  I tell my patients that swelling is normal after treatment with filler, especially when the lips are injected, and to plan accordingly.  Swelling can often cause the appearance of asymmetry or unwanted fullness.  Icing is beneficial for up to 48 hours after the treatment.  Arnica is also helpful for minimizing normal postprocedure swelling and bruising.  Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow normal postprocedure swelling to fully resolve and to see your final result.  If you continue to have any concerns, please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action.  Hope this helps and best wishes!

the problem is that your injector did not tell you that you could be very swollen for up to a week after injection. I think that cannulas make less swelling than needles BTW. The swelling will go away if you don't use too much ice too often which will increase it.
