First time lip filler and on day 3, bruise has spread from being only on the lip and now above my lip, is this normal? (photo)

Due to being a 10+ year lip picker (I have no lipstick on in that pic, it's just picking, it doesn't hurt just a constant habit I can't get out of), I have tried so many times to stop but can't, so thought I would try a hydration filler to maybe trick my brain not to pick it due to something in there. So far it's working & this is the best my lips have looked.

It's very common to notice swelling and bruising after injectable fillers, particularly when they're used for lip augmentation. Typically these symptoms fade within the first week and you should see your final results by another week after that. Ice can help with the swelling, and many people see good results from using arnica for bruising.

Jody.   It is quite normal to have bruising and swelling after Lip Augmentation with filler for at least 1 weeks.  Try to be patient, and stop picking!  Best of luck!

Yes, bruising can be typical following lip fillers. It can take 1-2 weeks for final results. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Thank you for question.As you are healing it is normal for the bruises to change and move. You can try warm compresses on the area to help speed up the healing process and dissolve the bruise faster.

Thank you for your question. It common to have some swelling and bruising after hyaluronic acid fillers for lip augmentation which can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. You can help reduce some swelling and bruising by applying cold compresses to the treated area. It is also advisable to avoid any NSAID’s before and after treatment as they tend to thin the blood and increase bruising and swelling. Bruising after having a filler injected into lips occurs quite frequently. It should resolve over the next 7 to 10 days. In the future, be sure to avoid medicines and supplements that can aggravate bleeding and bruising. Aspirin, anti-inflammatories, vitamin E and fish oil as well as several herbal products should be stopped at least 10 days before injections if possible.

Bruising after lip filler is very common as there are many blood vessels around the mouth. This should go away but I would recommend trying to avoid causing additional trauma to your lips while you are healing.
