How do I get rid of the natural lines that my bottom lip has formed?

I’m only 26 so I don’t think it’s a sign of aging and I exfoliate/balm my lips a couple times a week.

Hello and thank you for your question! It would really help to see a picture of the area you are concerned about. However, filler is a great option to achieve smoother lips. When filler is placed it should be placed in a manner that not only increases the volume of your lips so that the lines disappear but also in a manner that accentuates the natural shape of the lips so you don't get a "tube" lip. I hope this helps and make sure you review many before and after pics to make sure the style of lip augmentation performed by the plastic surgeon is what you are looking for. I have attached a before and after of a patient whose lips had some lines but is now much smoother, without looking over done and still has a nice shape. Hope this helps!Ankur Mehta MD

Lip lines are Not natural. Lip lines indicate a loss of value in there too much sun exposure. Just like any part of your body you have to use protection for your lip. In addition due to genetics you may loose volume  in your lips prematurely. Volume in the lips  can be restored with VolBella , Restylane or Juvederm.  I think everybody’s fear is that they will end up looking like a duck. This does not have to occur as your injector should be able to restore your natural size without looking obvious.

it’s hard to give you good advice without seeing a photo of the area you are concerned about, but in general, lip lines or peri oral lines can be treated nicely and effectively with either Volbella or restylane silk.

Depending on what your lips look like to start there are different options. If you need or want more lip volume adding a filler like Juvederm to fill in the lost space will soften the lines. If you have good volume, but want to have smoother lips Volbella is a good option for that.  I would find an experience physician injector to discuss your desires and the best filler to achieve your desired results.
