HEALING OF SENSORY NERVES: Tingling, burning or shooting pains, which will disappear
with time and should not alarm you, indicate regeneration of the sensory
nerves. If these sensations cause pain, repeated, local self-massage helps.

ASSYMETRY: The two breasts commonly heal quite differently. One
breast may swell more, feel more uncomfortable, or have a different initial
shape. After complete healing, they will be more similar and natural. You must
have patience, but if this causes concern, ask questions of the doctor or the
nursing staff.

SHAPE AND CONTOUR: The final shape of your breasts will start to look its
best approximately three (3) months after surgery. It takes time for the skin
and muscle to stretch and relax around the new implant. The breast will often
look higher, firmer, and “less natural” in the first three (3) months. It can
take up to a year to see your final result.

FOLLOW-UP EXAMS: These are generally done in 1 week, 2 to 3
weeks, 3 to 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months to 1 year, and 1-2 year intervals. In
our office we include all of your follow up appointments in the initial
surgical fee.

Thank you for your question.  Breast augmentation results can take weeks to months to finalize.  In the process of your implants settling, the breast shape (including your nipple position) will have changes.  Commonly, the patient will appreciate an improved position to your nipple and notable softening of your breast.  Be patient with the healing process.  Keep in good communication with your surgeon and do not hesitate to voice any concerns you may have.  Based on the single provided photo alone, your day one results seem appropriate.  I hope this helps.

Yes, your nipples should be higher once the implants drop. The implants don't begin to drop until close to the sixth week after surgery and you will be settled about 80 percent at three months. So, at one day post op you are less than one percent settled, soft and shaped. Hope this information is reassuring and good luck. The simple answer to your question is yes, your nipples will appear higher with your final result.

As your implants "drop" your nipples will assume a more central position on the breast mound. This will make them appear "higher."

Some surgeons use a pressure band at the top of the breasts to encourage this dropping in patients who are likely to need some additional help.

When you discuss this with your surgeon, I think he or she will assure you that this appearance of lower nipples will improve with time.

Thank you for your question.  The areolaes will definitely appear to rise as the implant settles.  Type of implant, size, quality of your tissues, surgical technique and other factors will determine your final result.  I think you will be pleased with your results over several months.  Good luck!

I can understand your concern.  I try to tell all my patients to expect to see the implants sitting high with a feeling like the nipples are too low.  As the muscle stretches the implants will drop down behind the nipple.  The lower portion of the breast expands with the stretching.  The nipples don't actually rise up, but they will appear to rise as the implants drop.  Be patient and be reassured that yes, the nipples will not stay so low as things relax.  Talk to your surgeon and most likely they will reassure you as well.  The process may take 3-4 months so don't be discouraged.  Best wishes!

it is very common after a sub muscular breast augmentation that the implants raise higher  on the chest initially.  This is as a result of contraction of the chest muscles pushing the implants higher.   This causes the nipple areolar complex to become lower.  As the chest muscles relax the implants  drop and the nipple areolar complex elevates.  This whole process can take several months.
