I'm 3 weeks post op BA, my ps gave me mepiform tape for my inframammary incisions but I ran out. I can't find any stores locally that sell them, what is a good quality alternative that is possibly easier to find? Thanks! Her office is an hour away so I planned on waiting til my next appointment (in five days) to get more mepiform there.

Answer: Scar treatment for breast augmentation Hello, My typical scar reduction regiment is to use steri-strips for the first 2-3 weeks, then have my patients use Bio-Corneum or Mederma. These products are more convenient than tape and applying them involves digital pressure which helps smooth the scar areas.

Answer: PostOp Scar Treatment As with any of your care, you should clear everything with your plastic surgeon first. Many people benefit from scar treatment (not all because some people heal fine without them and some make poor scars regardless) and there are a few available. Silicone is the main "ingredient" in most. We give our patients Biocorneum, which is applied twice a day, has built in sunscreen, and is great. Scar Away is over the counter, and it is placed on scars like tape, like mepiform. NuGel is similar to Scar Away, and available online. Just check with your doctor first!
