Hi @ellen4721! I would recommend waiting a full two weeks for the product to settle in. If you are still unhappy at that point, you can dissolve the filler with Hylenex. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Thank you for your question. Sorry to hear that you were disappointed by your overall experience, I would recommend that you visit with a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist who is well-versed with these injectable procedures. There are many things that I do to help shape the face to provide a more youthful look without making the face appear heavier. Developing a good plan of care is going to be critical for you to help address the aging process without making it look like you put on weight.
Thank you for your question, and I am sorry that you have been disappointed with your Voluma results. Appropriate placement of fillers can dramatically enhance a person's natural facial characteristics, helping recreate the heart-shaped, or "inverted egg" face that is a hallmark of youth. If you are unhappy with your results, unfortunately the only way to correct this would be to use hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler.
You should only remove the Voluma if the face doesn't look right. Just because of your weight, there's no need to consider removing the Voluma. If the face looks good, don't worry about weight issues.
If any dermal filler is placed in the wrong area, it can make you look fatter. But if placed correctly, it can give you a more chiseled look. If you are unhappy, get it removed.
I suggest speaking to your physician or losing some weight as it may affect the face and the voluma in it. You can reverse this easily with an enzyme hyaluronidase so not too much to worry about . Best, Dr. Emer.
Thanks for your question. Without before and after photos it is challenging to make recommendations that are specific to you. In general I do find that a patient's perception of their appearance shifts after having filler or Botox. They often notice things that were always there, but are now highlighted as their original concerns have been addressed and improved. I joke that you only notice how bad a room's carpet looks after you have changed the furniture! This is the same thing. I recommend giving it some time to see if your perception and feelings adjust. If they don't, then go back to see your original injector to see if there is anything you can do, such as reversing the treatment. Hope this helps!
Your injector is best able to guide you as he or she knows the scope of the treatment and the specifics about you. Also, patients may assess dermal fillers. It is best to wait for two weeks before making any judgements about the results.
In my experience, Voluma does not expand your face, but lifts the structures that have fallen from age. Did your doctor take before and after pictures? If so, you should take a look at them and see what the Voluma actually did. I had a patient recently who came back the day after his Voluma stating that his cheek was much larger than before. Of course, the filler was nowhere near his cheek. In looking at his photos, he saw that his cheek was always that big, but that as other parts of his face got "the lift," he noticed it more. And, of course, once he saw that he was really happy with the final results. He looks MUCH younger and refreshed.
Hi @Amsterdam26! I recommend waiting a full two weeks to see how the product settles in. If at that point the irregularity is still present, I recommend dissolving the product with Hylenex. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Voluma is a great product and gives immediate lift to the mid face providing beautiful lasting facial contours. If you are bruised creams like Arnica will help the bruising go away faster. It is best to take Arnica pills a few days before to minimize bruising. Creams will not dissolve a deep i...
