Thank you for your question. For the first 24 hours following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat, and consumption of alcoholic beverages. This minimizes the risk of temporary bruising, redness, swelling, and/or itching at the treatment sites. Swelling of the area is a temporary side effect that generally resolves within one-two weeks. An ice pack can be applied gently to the site if you experience swelling. I suggest scheduling a follow up appointment with your board certfied plastic surgeon two weeks following treatment. Good luck!
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Unfortunately you did not mention where you had the JVD placed so it is difficult to offer definite recommendations. In the majority of lip augmentations the JVD is placed into the red of the lip and associated tissue swelling will cause the skin just above the lip to become swollen. This dissipates over the first 2 weeks after treatment. If the JVD was placed into the upper lip skin to improve vertical wrinkles this may leave you with a too full look which can be corrected with placement of hyaluronidase. Allow your results to mature for 2-3 weeks and then reassess. Hope this helps.
I suggest hyaluronidase if you are unhappy with the lip filler. HA fillers like restylane and juvederm work by holding water which maybe what you see. Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question. It is normal to have some swelling and bruising after lip augmentation. This typically resolves within 2 weeks. You can apply ice to the treated area to help resolve the swelling more quickly. If after 2 weeks you are still unhappy with your results you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase. I recommend contacting your treating physician if you still have any concerns.
This can last up to two weeks. The severity and duration of your swelling can depend on the amount of JUVÉDERM® you had as well as the exact locations it was administered. If you just had the treatment, you can avoid things that may exacerbate the swelling. This include strenuous activities, alcohol consumption and sun exposure. If it has been more than two weeks, or if you still have concerns, contact your cosmetic surgeon or medical spa technician to discuss them.
The answer to your question depends on when you were injected, with what product, how much product was injected, and where it was injected. It is best to consult your injector regarding any post procedure concerns you may have.
You did not mention how long ago your injections were performed. Lip injections often have swelling associated with them that can last up to two weeks. If your treatment has been in that time frame, then the swelling is normal and should resolve. If it has been more than two weeks since treatment I would recommend you return to your injector for a consultation. Hyaluronidase can be used to dissolve the filller if you choose.
It appears as though you have a small bruise where the doctor injected the juvederm. This should resolve within a couple of days. I suggest arnica (either cream or tablet) to help speed it along!Good Luck!
I see a bruise so I'm guessing it is still in the first week after lip injections. It is normal to have swelling from the injections at this point. If after 10-14 days, you are not happy with the shape of the lips, I would discuss with your doctor and see if any corrective measures are needed.
I would do the same thing. I would make it dissolve and start from scratch for best results. I understand that his may be upsetting to you, but if you want perfect lip, then it is worth the hustle. Dissolving product will make it go away faster, if you wait for it to dissolve naturally then it...
If you're looking to inject just the upper lip, as I would based on your picture, a 0.5cc amount is likely a great starting point. If planning to do the entire lips, then go for a full 1cc syringe. More importantly, have an expert who knows lip anatomy injecting you (e.g. dermatologist) for...
Many physicians stay away from permanent fillers like silicone because of the potential for late complications. Silicone, unlike many other things, is forever. This means that as the face changes the product remains the same. It also means that there can be late (sometimes decades later)...
