Facial paralysis after filler and Hylenex, what can I do? (photos)

If you do not trust, please see another trusted injector. Sometimes it may take several treatments of the chosen dissolving solution to allow the treated area to revert back to normal.  Best wishes

Hylenex and injectable fillers should not affect your ability to smile since they do not directly affect the muscles or nerves involved in smiling. One possibility is that you are having residual swelling or tissue inflammation and this is creating a temporary change in your smile. If this were the case, then you should expect your smile to restore itself as the swelling resolves. It is best to have an in-office evaluation to determine what is the actual cause of your inability to smile like. I am sorry that your experience with filler has been well below what you hoped. I would recommend you see your injector and discuss with her/him your concerns. You should review your pre-injection photos and discuss what are the best treatment options for you. Otherwise, I would recommend seeing a board-certified expert to evaluate you and discuss options as well. I wish you success!

I have never heard of facial paralysis or trouble smiling after fillers. Certainly Hylenex wouldn't do this. It is most likely related to Botox/Dysport placed around the eyes, lips, or masseters. It should be temporary and will resolve. If this is a continuing or worsening problem, I'd consider neurology evaluation. I know it is theoretically possible for needles to cut nerves, I just never heard or seen it. Could Kybella have been used instead of Hylenex? They come in similar vials.
