A blood pressure of 124/89 is not usually an emergency, but the lower number is borderline/high and, if it is repeated, may fall into stage 1 hypertension. One reading alone does not decide whether you can have a BBL. Your surgeon and anesthesia team need to consider repeated blood pressure readings, your medical history, medications, BMI, labs, smoking status, and overall cardiac and clotting risk. For an elective procedure like a BBL, blood pressure should be stable and optimized before surgery. Take several readings at rest or keep a home blood pressure log and review it with your primary doctor and surgical team. If your pressure is higher on the day of surgery or is not well controlled, surgery may be postponed for safety. This number does not automatically mean you can never have a BBL, but it does mean you should be medically cleared and optimized before proceeding.
