I had a serious illness which caused me to lose a lot of adipose tissue rapidly, including behind the eyeballs. This has caused my eyeballs to recess back and appear much smaller. Is it possible to insert an orbital implant behind the eyeball, to enhance the volume behind the eyes and thus the projection of the eyes? I understand this area is extremely risk, however, once done it would allow for a degree of permanence and removes risk of blood vessel penetration that fat transfer would entail.

The picture show negative vector and taking the fat out through transconjuctival incision does not help. You will need tear trough implant and subcillary( skin) incision.
