Nerve twitching after bone graft! Could it be that my nerve was damaged?

I appreciate your concern, but I assure you that twitching, tingling and numbness can all be a part of the healing process from rhinoplasty. These side effects are generally attributed to nerve irritation during the surgery, which is usually temporary. I would guess you will see these symptoms come to an end within the next six to nine months. However, if you are concerned, I encourage you to schedule an in-person follow-up with your plastic surgeon for a full evaluation and additional reassurance that your recovery is progressing appropriately.

Hello and thank you for your question. Since you are 3 months post-op, it is normal to feel these types of sensations. You are still in a healing phase. Therefore, I suggest you give it some time. These muscle twitches should cease in about 6-12 months.

It is not uncommon for nerves to be irritated after surgery.  This can lead to temporary decreased or increased sensitivity.  This will usually resolve itself in 6-12 months. 

Hello,thank you for your question. The nerve twitching near the bone graft may be easily fixed by a botox procedure. Make sure to inform your plastic surgeon about all your concerns. Best Regards

Postoperative swelling may "deaden" sensation and promote muscle twitching due to motor nerve irritation. As the swelling subsides, sensation will usually return and muscle twitching should cease. This may take 6-12 months.  If the twitch is intense, speak to your plastic surgeon regarding possible treatment.
The age at which the bone graft is performed should have no effect upon its viability.
