Uneven nostrils and high tip, almost six weeks after rhinoplasty. Will it drop? (photo)

I had rhinoplasty almost 6 weeks ago and my nostrils are uneven and the tip is still high and piggish. The doctor has told me it will drop but to wait for it. I was just wondering if it will drop or even out?

Hi and thank you for your question and photos. I understand your concern.However, I think it's too soon to say if there is a problem. The final healing time after a Rhinoplasty can take up to 1 year. You had your procedure done 6 weeks ago and there is still swelling. I suggest to wait a few months and follow-up with your doctor.

Hello and thank you for your question. İt is very common for most of the post op patients to be worried about the final result, which can be obtained in one year. You havent finished your healing process and your nose is still swollen thats why you may observe uneven nostrils and upturned tip. Your doctor is right you need to wait, if you still have the same complaints after one year post op, you may research for other doctors. Get well soonBest Regards

Hello Ivy128,Although I counsel all patients about their expected timeline, it is natural for patients to have some anxiety about their final outcome early in the post-operative period, as you are.  That said, the remaining post-surgical changes really depend on the 4th dimension, time, as well as the actual surgical techniques performed.  Therefore, your surgeon is really the best one to ask.  At times, patients may perform compression or reshaping exercises that may hasten recovery, but I would definitely ask your surgeon before attempting this.
