I’ve had two incidents with my nose. The first time, I hit my nose super hard on the ground which resulting me going to the ER. My nose had like red veins showing, and it was almost like a pig nose a while. And then the second time, I got hit with soccer ball directly in the nose. I have a deviated septum, and it feels like there’s not really much cartilage supporting my nose. I’m scared if I get a rhinoplasty my nose will just collapse and it will become worse.

Answer: Nose support Thanks for your question. You have identified one of the key things we assess during physical examination for patients considering nasal surgery. To answer your question your doctor will need to examine you in person to feel and assess both your septal cartilage (if it's present), your tip support, find areas of deviation and nasal bone stability. Additional, if you are having breathing problems, just because your septum is crooked doesn't mean that's the reason for your breathing difficulty. There are many things that go into helping someone breath better. The septum, turbinate, internal nasal valve, external nasal valve, and pyriform aperture are a few of the things we assess to come up with a correct treatment plan. Each patient is different and you most likely would still do very well with nasal surgery. Warm regards.
