I have lost approx 400lbs (going from 650 to 250). I am 6'4" and 39 years old if that matters. I am struggling to find a lot of info about body lifts on males. Specifically, most sites mention that a BBL is included. Is that just for women? I found a few videos and it looks like men sometimes get more procedures done on them at the same time. Is this because men are easier to work on and spend less time under anesthesia? Thank you

Answer: Body lift Dear FatterThanHomerSimpson, the length of surgery depends on a lot of factors and sex is not that important. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Length of surgery depends upon several factors. There is no inherent difference in the time that it takes to do a body lift on a male versus a female. One of the biggest factors in how long a lower body lift will take, is how close to ideal bodyweight you are. If you have lost essentially all of your weight then the procedure will only be removal of excess skin and will take less time than if your tissues are thicker, and there is more to go through. If your plastic surgeon works with another surgeon, then this will also reduce the time for surgery. A duo of surgeons could then do a lower body lift, as well as upper arm, lift, and other procedures within 6 hours which is generally considered a time frame that helps maximize safety. Have detailed consultation with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes.
