I would like to know if I ? I had pulmonary embolism due to child birth in 2021 and was treated 2 weeks hospitalized 3 months with capsules but I am completely cleared and not on any medication since I finished my 3 months of blood thinners and do not do any treatment
Answer: BBL 2 years after pulmonary embolism Dear Ltiffanylua2, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. You would need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Pulmonary embolism Hello, thank you for your question. The most powerful predictor for a Pulmonary Embolism is a previous one; even though your apparent trigger was the heightened hormonal state of your pregnancy, that doesn't mean the elevated inflammatory state produced by liposuction won't elicit the same result. Are eligible? You could, but you also have a bigger chance of getting this complication, which in turn could be potentially fatal, so I personally wouldn't do it. Good luck with your decision

Answer: Bbl 2 years after pulmonary embolism Hello @Ltiffanylua2, thank you for your question. Yes, you can go under surgery two years after suffering from a pulmonary embolism. However, this is only if all of your lab tests are normal and if you have been cleared by your primary care physician. It is still recommended that you discuss the specifics of the surgery with both your doctor and surgeon prior to undergoing any procedure in order to ensure that everything will be done safely. The best course of action is to consult one or several board certified plastic surgeon for more information and options tailored specifically to your needs. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS. Answer: You're not completely cleared Dear Ltiffany, Once you've had a history of PE, provoked or unprovoked, you are at higher risk for future clotting events in the face of a surgical procedure. This would call for you to be anticoagulated for a BBL. Only you can decide if a larger buttocks is worth the risk. Good luck!

Answer: History of pulmonary embolus Factors for having a pulmonary embolism one of the big ones is having a previous pulmonary embolism. Some plastic surgeons may feel this is a contraindication and others may feel comfortable doing the procedure if you get clearance from a hematologist. You also need to find out if you’re a good candidate for the procedure since you did not include pictures. Personal consultation for local, board-certified plastic surgeons who have extensive experience with the procedure. You’ll get individuals. Personal opinion there’s a consultation regarding your candidacy and their opinion regarding your medical history. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
