I developed a cough lasting a month after liposuction. Is this in some way related to my surgery?

A month post op , I developed a really sever cough with mucus . Some other symptoms I had were dizziness, feeling like I'm going to faint, and random hot flashes . Is this in some way related to my surgery or is it unrelated because i started experiencing symptoms a month after

It's highly unlikely the liposuction was a factor in your persistent cough. If general anesthesia is used for the procedure patients may have some upper airway irritation for a few days. Longer than this demands workup by your physician.

The coughing is probably not related to your liposuction. However, if you have a cough that has persisted for several weeks then you need to be4 evaluated by a general practitioner or otolaryngologist to see if there are any severe issues going on in your airway.

It's unlikely to be related directly to the liposuction itself.But it's not impossible that it is related to the anesthesia (particularly if you had general anesthesia, were in bed or not moving around much for a while afterwards), were generally at a lower level of activity than normal, etc.Regardless of its possible origin, which may be difficult to prove either way, you should contact your plastic surgeon and primary care physician and arrange to be seen for an evaluation. If you had general anesthesia it is possible to have irritation of the trachea and vocal chords. This usually can be treated conservatively.  See your doctor and have a physical exam and possible chest X-ray  to make an assessment of what is really going on. Best wishes.
