Thank you for your question. In short, the number of appointments is up to your operating physician. However, I cannot stress enough how important the follow up is. Travel restrictions depend on how much you had liposuctioned and from where. Please contact your surgeon's office to determine if and when you should be seen. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
Hello, it will depend on your doctor's routine. I try to see my patients 4-7 days post op, then again at 21 days and at 2 months. I will say that if you will be safe to fly after 5 days if no complication is present. Best wishes
Thank you for your recent questions! I agree with the other surgeon's response. Post-op appointments will vary depending on the plastic surgeon and what type of liposuction he/she does. Typically in our office we have a 6 day suture removal appt then a 3 week and 3 month, than 1 year follow up. As far as flying I would ask the surgeon that will be doing the procedure. Best of Luck!
Hello Every board certified plastic surgeon will have various appointment schedules post op. Please check with the clinic you will have the procedure at. It is also important to check with their policies on suggested time to fly. Best regard
Thank you for the question. Follow up is typically surgeon dependent. I prefer to see my patients at 5 days, 6 weeks, 3 months and 6 months post op. Therefore you should be able to fly out at about 5 days post op. Having said that each plastic surgeon has their own style of managing patients, I would therefore encourage you to have this discussion with your chosen plastic surgeon. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
Appears you are going out of country - mistake! But flying OK at 2 days after operation..............
There are patients who have liposuction and never follow up again. Typically we see patients at one week, three months and six months. Many patients have questions or issues that require more follow up. Traveling long-distance is for cosmetic surgery has many pitfalls. What happens if you have a complication? For example patients who develop seromas after liposuction may need to be seen daily for over a week. A significant number of patients require some type of touchup or revision. As many as 10% or more of all patients required some revision procedure weather minor or significant. Air travel after liposuction is generally safe though there are some increased risks including the formation of blood clots. There is hardly a shortage of talented plastic surgeons in Miami.Perhaps it's better to find someone locally.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
