My chin is very small and it makes my face more boxy and I don’t feel confident.can you recommend me which treatment should i go for and if fillers how many ML will be required ( what is the minimum amount for surgical chin implant) and what other options i can go for with this chin

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. Because the appearance of the chin impacts the front view, oblique view, and lateral view in different ways, I would always advise having a 3D photograph and computer simulation. This will help you understand what you would like to achieve and how it complements the shape of your face with different projections and widths of the chin.

Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this.

We can place a chin implant, which is a quick surgical procedure. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, however, so for those patients, we also offer non-surgical chin augmentation with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, BellaFill, and Sculptra are injected into the area to improve the overall appearance of the lower face and balance the jaw and lip harmony. The amount of fillers needed to bring the best harmony and balance to your face would be determined during an in-person evaluation. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline, and improve the chin crease.

Implants are a great option once you are ready for permanent chin enhancement.​ I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles.

There are various treatment options available to balance your chin and boost your confidence. Hyaluronic acid fillers, for instance, can add volume and projection to the chin area when injected. The required amount of filler varies based on individual anatomy and desired results, typically ranging from 1 to 4 cc for chin augmentation. Surgical chin implantation offers a more permanent solution to increase chin projection, with the size of the implant depending on facial structure and desired aesthetic outcomes. You are a suitable candidate for chin implant surgery. I prefer to conduct a physical examination and then decide on the implant sizes and surgery. During the examination, I evaluate your facial proportions and recommend the appropriate implant size and shape. Fat injection is also another option, but is not long lasting. In some cases, a combination of treatments such as fillers, implants, and fat grafting may be recommended depending on individual needs and goals.

To make an assessment we need quality pictures.
For the mandible profile pictures are much more important than frontal pictures but we need both.
Look at how plastic surgeons take before and after pictures to get an idea.
Make sure that angles are correct.
 Have someone else take the pictures or use the timer on your camera.
Avoid holding the camera yourself or using mirrors.
Individuals who have mandible that is less than ideal in regards to shape and size, may have a deficits in different parts of the bone.
It’s important to recognize which part of the mandible has the problem.
Is the deficit truly in the chin or mentalis region of the mandible or is it further back in the body of the mandible? It’s not uncommon for people who have amendable that is small in the body of the mandible, but have, a good projecting mantis to get chin augmentation leading to undesirable outcomes.
To get a quality assessment and better understanding of treatment options I suggest consulting with oral surgeons in your community.
Plastic surgeons also do this kind of work, but I find oral surgeons have a slight advantage, because they are generally trained to recognize and treat more complex mandibular conditions.Best,
