I have decided to remove my implants that I’ve had for 4 years. I have 350cc UTM. Will I still look bottomed out if I just get them removed, or would a capsulotomy make the appearance better? I have no illness and no capsular contract so capsule will be left in. Thank you.
Answer: Removal Even removed, you still may need your lower pocket lifted so it will be in the proper location. Just removing the implants and capsules may not fix this.

Answer: Will I still look bottomed out if I just get implants removed? Would a capsulotomy make the appearance better?(photo) Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. Most likely your breast will return to a very similar appearance as before your augmentation - I would expect your bottoming out to resolve.

Answer: Considering options From your photo it appears you have options to improve the appearance of the breasts. You can elect to have your implants removed which will correct the "bottomed out" appearance but you may be unhappy with the new appearance. If you still would like to keep implants you could consider a revision to correct the placement of the implants in the pocket. I encourage you to begin by scheduling a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.

Answer: Implant removal Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Implant removal will likely solve the “bottoming out” appearance but your breasts will still appear saggy and flat. Capsulectomy will not solve that problem. Implants in a neo-pocket may help but discuss this with your surgeon before making a final decision.

Answer: Revision surgery Dear kbdee, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.
