Can liposuction be used to deflate epithelial folds under eyes? (Photo)

It is difficult to assess the presence of fat around your eyes from the pictures. The procedure for fat removal in this area is surgical blepharoplasty where the appearance of the eyelids can be improved overall. You do need an in person consultation and evaluation of eyes before planning a procedure.Please find an experienced Board Certified Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns.

Generally speaking, fat around the eyes is better treated with surgical excision and rearrangement rather than liposuction. Thanks for your question. There are a few options that can treat this area like fillers, fat grafting or skin and fat excision. Best is to have a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to get the best plan for you. 

If you dont like fillers, they can be reversed.There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. Even with full control and small cannula that is very unsafe and unpredictable procedure. Removal of fat deposits through a small incision(s) placed inside the eyelid is much more efficient and better controlled. Good luck.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Liposuction is not a good idea around the eyelids and would cause severe complications in that area in addition to not working in removing the fat pockets.  Blepharoplasty is the only procedure which can safely remove fat from the eyelids.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.   Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

if you have fillers in that area you can wait for them to disappear or you can treat that area with hyaluronidaze. If you are considering a treatment, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

The photo does not demonstrate obvious fat excess and is not detailed enough to see skin wrinkles, skin folds, or fat pads. If your eyes are "deep set", fat removal may exaggerate the condition. You may be referring to the relative tightness at the medial aspects of your eyelids/ lateral nose, similar in appearance to epicanthal folds in the Asian population. This entity would respond to a multiple z-plasty skin release.In order to better define your problem and provide treatment advice, you require an in-person evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon.Best wishes...

Your photo does demonstrate the hollowness under your eyes, which, incidentally,  are not really epicanthal folds.Excess lower eyelid fat is not visible to me in your photo, but upon examination, one may well have fat in the lower eyelid pockets that needs to be removed. Still, even if the fat is removed, you will have some hollowness that needs to be filled. This can be done with fat injections or fillers. This must be done with skill and experience to have an excellent result. A permanent alternative would be a silicone implant, as the real problem is lack of bony support. I have done a number of these, and they are uniformly satisfactory.I recommend consulting a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in this field for an in depth discussion as to your options.Thank you for your question, and photos, and good luck.
