I see such varying reviews, some people say the pain is terrible if they can't move for a week, other people say it was pretty bad for like a day or 2 and then definitely sore but fine, so which is it? I have a high pain tolerance and I'm kind of prepared to be in pain at work for a few days or a week, but I'm wondering if I should ask to take an extra day off, I couldn't really take more than Friday and Monday, ideally would just take Friday as planned.
Answer: Recovery time Thank you for your question! For my patients having 360 liposuction, I recommend they take 10-14 days off of work, 3 weeks off of cardio at the gym, and 6 weeks off of weight training and yoga. Most patients need at least one week off of work or can start working from home at that time. I hope this helps!

Answer: Lymphatic Massage, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Radiofrequency (Venus Legacy, Exilis, Vanquish, forma), Cellutone/Evive (, Trusculpt iD) Liposuction downtime really depends on the doctor performing the procedure. If this is a hi definition procedure, it takes much more downtime because of the superficial liposuction involved as compared to traditional fat reduction liposuction. I suggest speaking to your physician. Most patients are back at work in 2-3 days with normal methods including basic vaser liposuction. I do recommend RF treatments externally like venus legacy, exilis ultra, Vanquish, shock/vibration therapy like Cellutone/z wave, hyperbaric oxygen and compression in order to decrease swelling and improve results. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: I have Lipo 360 scheduled for 9am on a Friday. I work a desk job that I drive to. Will I be able to go back to work on Monday? Thank you for your question. Healing after liposuction is usually pretty straight forward. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.

Answer: Liposuction days off Great question! The answer to this will vary from patient to patient. You are correct in that some patients will feel fine within a couple days however you also have patients that will take longer to heal. Again everybody recovers differently. You don’t want to be taking pain medicine while driving or while work as this could potentially create bigger issues. I would recommend you taking more time off work. However this decision is between you and your surgeon. Best of luck and hope this information helps! - Dr. Roger Tsai @DrRogerTsai Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
