Lipo abs, flanks & transfer to hip/butt. 5000cc removed, 500cc added to each side. While I do see some changes, it's just not what we discussed. He assured me 500cc would give the outcome I wanted. He won't offer a discount and wants to redo with fat from arms. Should I just consult someone else? I feel had he added more, it would be alot closer to what I wanted. Also, his prices went up, so to redo, is almost the same cost. This is just so much money, to not get results.

Answer: BBL results It would be helpful if you could go into detail about what you don’t like about the outcome and specifically what you’re trying to achieve. The BBL procedure probably has more distorted views on what can and cannot be achieved with a single procedure than any other surgery. There are a lot of exaggerated results floating around the Internet and patience sometimes spend hours searching out the very best results they can find hoping to get exactly that. When it comes to volumes grafted there are really too many variables to simply state and number of appropriate amount of cc a fat to graft. The fat grafted will always have a certain percentage of water and this can vary based on how fat has been processed. simply this variable alone can have a big impact on what 500 mL actually means. also, if all the volume is placed only in the buttocks and small volumes go a long ways but if it’s also grafted into the outer thigh and hips then the total surface area that’s being augmented goes up and much more fat is needed. This is why understanding exactly what each patient is trying to achieve is important because the areas grafted can extend far beyond the buttocks in some cases. When comparing results from other providers there are unfortunately a phone number of people both providers and patients showing off early postoperative results from fat transfer procedures. early results can be dramatic compared to final results. this also helps distort the image of what can or cannot be achieved with the procedure. Each provider will have their own policy on revision work and pricing and yours has made it clear what he wants to redo the procedure. I cannot stress enough the importance of having a clear understanding before surgery of what revision policies entail and what surgeons are willing to cover or not cover when revisions are needed. The number of people who have issues with these procedures in regards to results and outcomes is far higher than most patients believe. Erase many important points and variables and this really requires an in person consultation to do justice. If you don’t have faith in your current provider then I suggest consulting with more providers to see what’s out there and what people can do for you. Secondary Liposuction of previously treated areas typically deliver 25 to 30% of the fat harvested from the first time around. In your case this means that a substantial amount of fat could be harvested without adding new areas though often untreated areas get better liposuction results then doing secondary Liposuction. Lots of things to discuss but to get a better understanding you’re better off doing this with in person consultations. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: BBL Hello, and thanks for your question. In a BBL, only so much fat can safely be transferred to the buttock, so that is why he probably did not add too much. It is always better to start small and add more later for best results. If he put too much in and you did not like it, it would be difficult to liposuction the buttock and get a nice contoured result. It is up to you if you want to see another surgeon-check out prices and reviews from other doctors and see what you think. Please see a board-certified physician for your consultation. Best of luck to you!
