I had a BBL six months ago. I suffered from back pain prior to the BBL, but my pain is worse post and radiates down one leg, down hamstring, ending at back of the knee. It starts at my lower back. I didn’t think much of it at first, but now it’s so annoying that I can’t take it anymore. I would say that the radiating pain started 3 weeks post procedure. I have an upcoming appointment with a specialist. This could just be a coincidence, or could this pain be related to the BBL?
Answer: BBL & Lower Back Pain. Could this pain be related to the BBL? It sounds like you have sciatic nerve pain. This should be unrelated to your procedure. Definitely discuss with the specialist at your upcoming appointment.

Answer: BBL and back pain Dear Celebrated151566, your back pain should not be caused by BBL surgery. During your surgery, fat is harvested under the skin and placed again under skin in buttocks. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Lower back pain and cosmetic surgery Typically sciatica type lower back pain comes from spinal pathology causing nerve impingement a nerve roots far deeper than where the treatments are for either liposuction or fat transfer. Laying still under general anesthesia can buy itself cause back pain. It’s unlikely BBL is going to cause significant changes in spinal pathology. Lower back pain is one of the most common maladies seeking medical care. most likely your increased pain is simply worsening of your condition or coincidental. If you’ve not had a proper lower back pain woke up with an MRI and then I suggested doing so. It sounds like you’re on the right track of seeing a pain or back specialist. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Sciatic like pain following BBL Hi and welcome to our forum! You note that back pain preceded your procedure, but has changed character since your BBL. It now radiates down your leg in a pattern suggestive of nerve root compression. 6 months seems quite long for residual swelling following a BBL to be responsible (a very unusual occurrence). Following your procedure, there was a period of relative immobility which may have resulted in increased stiffness and pain with motion. Physical therapy may be of benefit. Diagnostic imaging studies may be utilized to determine if nerve compression as the result of an underlying condition is responsible for your pain.I agree with your plan to see a back pain specialist.Best wishes...
