Thanks for the question. There's no age limit or ideal age for Neck Lift. However, patients must be over 18 years of age.
It really comes down to the health of a patient over the age. In addition to a required one-on-one consultation with a board certified Plastic Surgeon, patients always need to be seen by their primary care doctor prior to such procedures. Every patient is screened for risks of blood clots (DVT) and then take appropriate measures. If cleared by your doctor, you may want to consider Lite-lift™ which is an affordable, quick, and effective innovative facelift developed by board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Larry Nichter and myself. The goal of the #LiteLift is to provide a less invasive natural looking option for both men and women desiring to refresh their appearance with less downtime and risks. The LiteLift® is a “real” facelift, which does address the underlying muscle, tissue and overlying skin. This is a modified facelift that can be performed in the office with a local anesthetic and improve signs of aging around the neck, jawbone and lower face. These procedures are not "Thread-lifts" or "String-lifts". We do not use the "barbed" sutures employed in these other lifting operations. The Lite-lift™ uses longer lasting techniques. Because the incisions are limited, there is less bruising, swelling and healing time for most patients. Many patients can be back to work in one to two weeks looking rested and more youthful. The best candidates for #LiteLift are non-smoking patients 35-60 years old with stable skin elasticity, well-defined bone structure but showing early changes of the lower face and the neck. Older patients who cannot or do not wish to have a longer operation or general anesthetic can be improved with a Lite Lift™. All in all, Lite Lift™ surgery is individualized for each patient. Consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon is important to ensure you are receiving the best advice, care, and surgical experience possible. In some cases your plastic surgeon may give you more than one option to choose from.
Hello. There really is no age limit to a lower face/neck lift. The more important question is your health. A face/neck lift is an elective surgery and one needs to be in good health in order to tolerate the surgery. If you're seriously considering the surgery, you should find a qualified surgeon who will go over your health history and discuss what he/she can do to help. Take care.
There's no such thing as too old for surgery, but there's certainly such a thing as too unhealthy for surgery. If you're healthy, then a board-certified plastic surgeon can tailor the procedure to your needs and your recovery potential to minimize risks and reduce the effect of older age as much as medically possible.
There really isn't a specific age limit. The decision for this type of surgery is based on your anatomy, aesthetic goals, and general health. Best of luck!
Some patients would not be good surgical candidates in their 50's and some are still excellent candidates in their 80's. It depends on your health and whether it is safe to undergo a 3-4 hour surgery. Excellent results can be obtained on patients in their 80's although the skin tends not to be as elastic at that age so the results may not last as long. Check with your doctor about your overall health and with your plastic surgeon about what procedure would be best and safest for you.
There is no specific age limit to performing a successful facelift assuming the patient is in good health. A more important consideration is choosing the proper technique to address the aging issues present in the face and neck. This will differ from person to person and isn't necessarily age dependent.
In our practice, we have performed lower face and neck lifts on some patients in the early 80s. Although they have done very well, the skin tone is rather inelastic and they don't last, so the results will not last as long
There is no true upper age limit for facial rejuvenation surgery. Ultimately it depends on your overall health. If a patient is in good health and obtains medical clearance from their primary care physician then it is safe to move forward with surgery. Typically our oldest patients in good health who undergo a face lift are in their late 70's or early 80's.
Thanksprovided there is no other medical problems and the patient can sustain a procedure of about 3 hours under grneral anaesthetics, there is no upper age limit!BWJTahery
In our practice, Pepto-Bismol is not one of the medications we warn our patients against before neck lift. If you're concerned, check with your surgeon's office.
When looking forward, your neck looks very attractive. For a neck like yours, I never recommend surgery to patients. You should be conscious about looking down or exaggerating the appearance of the folds of course. My patients with a neck like yours typically are happy with the...
A platysmaplasty is easy to undergo and is done under local with or without a little iv sedation with minimal down time.
