Breast swelling after sex. What can I do?

I am about 10-11 week from BA. After being intimate with my husband I woke up a few hours later and was in so much pain. I took a pain pill which did not help. My right breast really hurts. It is also swollen. When I push from the outside inward is where most of the pain is. No pain on the bottom of my breast. My left is ok minimal discomfort. HELP!

Sexual activity should be fine 10 weeks after your procedure. Having said that, you should probably still avoid direct "trauma" to your breasts when engaging in such activity.  The pain is probably due to some spasm of your muscle or stretching of the nerves as you continue to heal, However you need to be evaluated by your surgeon to make sure nothing more serious has occurred.

It is certainly possible that you have developed a hematoma on the painful side.  Definitely follow-up with your plastic surgeon ASAP.

If you are have new onset pain and swelling that is bothering you, you should be seen by your surgeon for a proper assessment.

I agree with my colleagues, you should not have pain at this point. However that fact that it exists suggests, bleeding, fluid accumulation, implant shift, nerve issues, to name a few. It  could be that your breast is uncomfortable due to manipulation.  However it is possible that you have a hematoma and you should see your surgeon.

At 10-11 weeks after surgery, sexual activity should be fine. It is possible that the nerves became irritated, or that scar tissue was broken up, or, more seriously, that a hematoma (collection of blood) or other process may be going on.  Call your plastic surgeon for a quick check-out exam to be sure.

It is very important that you be seen in person by your board certified plastic surgeon who diagnosed whether or not you have a hematoma.  Swelling and pain in one breast after her activity like 6 can result in bleeding which causes a hematoma a collection of blood which results in swelling and pressure and pain.  Please do not delay but contact your plastic surgeon's office immediately.

Jennye7,This situation may just be due to more motion and strain in the healing area pulling on nerve, etc, which will resolve, or it could indicate a tear in the internal scar that surrounds the implant that has caused some bleeding.  That would need to be evaluated by your surgeon.  I would want one of my patients to let me know about a situation like this, and I would evaluate them.
