I got 1 syringe of juvaderm. I wanted the sides of my top lip to be fuller. I didn't see any results. The Dr. told me to wait 2 wks. No result. She told me to come in for another syringe & charged me. Dr. told me " I couldn't get full lips " because I'm "fair skin " & it's hard to see results. I'm unhappy and feel I wasted my money. Dr.told me I'm not understanding how lip fillers work. The shot was a quick poke. Is this normal?
Answer: I got Juvederm for lip fillers and I'm not satisfied, is this normal? Hi Dreace.I'm sorry things did not work out for you with your injector and Juvederm. It happens that some fillers just will not give you the results you want. I would suggest trying a different filler next time and with a very experienced injector.I would suggest the Restylane family if injectors and Belotero.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)

Answer: Lateral Lip Filler? It is true that the lateral parts of the upper lip are often the most problematic for patients. So much is determined by your anatomy and while not describing it well, your injector (hopefully a board certified plastic surgeon) is not entirely wrong. Fillers can do amazing things, but they help augment your existing tissues. They cannot change your inherent anatomical features. It is not a magic wand. If your upper lip is very thin at the sides, no amount of filler is going to fully change that, regardless of what people will try and tell you. They can be made better, but perhaps not as much as you would like.

Answer: I got JVD for lip fillers and I'm not satisfied, is this normal? Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry that your current results have not been what you anticipated. Though I disagree with your doctor's assertion that your lips can not get fuller, I would advocate additional placement of a thick hyaluronic acid filler such as Juvederm Ultra Plus. This affords greater structure and volume for your lips. Seek an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss.

Answer: Juvederm for Upper Lip You may benefit from layering of more filler over time. For 2 vials I understand you may not be totally happy at this point but your lips may need time to keep expanding so if you trust your doctor keep the conversation open. For the sides of your lips they won't most likely achieve the fullness your natural lip has in the middle so perhaps thats the issue/explanation your physician is talking about. It might be your expectations not matching what is possible in 1-2 vials..... Best of Luck.

Answer: Lip fillers with Juvederm--It works! Hi Ms. Illinoise, Juvederm Ultra and Ultra plus work great in the lips for building up volume. I'm not sure why you didn't get the results you where looking for. I think your lips are beautiful. But, there doesn't seem to be a big difference between the two pictures you posted. Perhaps you had Juvederm Volbella done, which is very subtle and is mostly used for just slight definition around the lips rather then volume. I hope this clarifies this for you. My video below should help explain. Best, Dr. Onir
