Can you store half a syringe of juvederm to use at a later date?

Thanks so much for reaching out. It is not competent to do so. But I can assure you one syringe of Juvéderm split between both your upper and lower lip if done correctly will do great. 

Thank you for sharing your case.  It isnot common practice to save a half used syringe of Juvederm for later use.    This would leave you vulnerable to a bad infection.  If you are worried about having too much filler placed, you may be better off with starting with a thinner filler for lip augmentation like belotero or Restylane Silk.  Consider a consultation with a board certified physician injector to discuss your goals.  Good luck!

Thank you for your question.  While some physicians do offer to save opened, partially used syringes of filler for future use, I generally recommend against this.  Fillers like Juvederm are formulated and sealed as sterile products, to prevent the risk of deep infections in skin after treatment.  Once the syringe has been opened, there is no longer any way to guarantee the sterility of the product, and the longer it is stored, the greater the risk of bacterial contamination.If you are unsure you want to commit to a full syringe of Juvederm, please consider trying a product like Volbella.  Volbella is a very thin filler, designed to add very subtle volume to the lips, and a full syringe of Volbella contains only 0.55cc rather than the 1cc of filler in a syringe of Juvederm.  I would recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns and determine the best treatment plan for you.  Best of luck!

It is not recommended to save open syringes of Juvederm due to risk of contamination.  The product is available in different volumes, so you may ask your injector if a smaller volume syringe can be used.

using one syringe of Juvederm and I assume it's 1 ml is not a lot of the product for lip augmentation. I'm sure you will be happy with the whole syringe being used. Traditionally, it is not recommended to preserve the product even though some doctors do practice just that.

This is not a recommended practice to store a partially used syringe for a number of reasons including risk of infection, or even cross contamination by accidentally injecting someone's syringe into the wrong person.
