Doctors, I want to know if 800 saline implants give you a bigger look than 800 silicone? you get saline overfilled to 1000 -1200 will they be just as safe as getting custom silicone implants of the same size? What are you thoughts on silicone larger than 800cc? I once had saline and you can feel the water move around and my guy did not like the way it feel. He love the way silicone feel but now 800 silicone is not bigger enough ready to go out of the country to get larger silicone implant.
Answer: Generally 800c saline looks bigger than 800 cc silicone Although 800ccc should look the same generally saline looks bigger because it is less pliable and stiffer. Also you can overfill saline implants - they will loose warranty and possibly will look/feel very fake. I would not advice you to get larger silicone implants - first of all they may not have the same quality as Mentor/Allergan and moreover large weight of the implants may pose more risks for the future - thinning of the breast tissue, bottoming down etc

Answer: 800 mL looks like 800 mL I would echo the response of other doctors on this website. Regardless of silicone versus saline, 800 mL looks like 800 mL. I cannot comment on custom silicone implants as they are not available in the United States. In general, overfilled saline implants feel quite firm. The more the implants are overfilled the more firm they feel. Going outside of the manufacturer's recommended fill range does void the warranty on saline implants. I would caution you to be careful about going out of the country or going to see someone in the country who will do something that is not generally accepted or legal here. I hope that you can find what are looking for. Extra-large breast augmentations can be tricky. Extra large volume implants create some tremendous forces on the breast tissue over time.

The manufacturer range on the 800cc is up to 1000cc. However, everyone knows that it can be filled to 1500cc and still feel somewhat soft and completely maintain its shell strength. Unlike a custom silicone implant ( which is not allowed in the US), the saline implant overfilled gives you flexibility during surgery to add more if the tissues can handle it. I have patients with 2700cc and love them. As a test I have taken an 800cc Shell and filled it to 3300cc. It looked like a basketball, but we dropped it on the ground ten times and nothing happened to it. The best thing to do is have a consultation and see what will work best for you. I hope this helps.
