Are my breast implants different sizes? (photos)

I appreciate the slight fullness of the left areola but in your before pictures your left breast is naturally fuller to start with. We always have patients think that after a breast augmentation one side is now larger, but actually we all have asymmetries of the breast tissue to start and this can be emphasized more when they are enlarged. The implant position looks good. Speak to your plastic surgeon about your concerns see what they may suggest.

All breasts are different right to left in size, shape, folds, nipple position, etc. before and after any surgery. This also includes differences in chest wall, muscle, ribs , etc.

They will never be 100% identical, especially without a bra or clothing. Even using different sized implants has limitations.

They will also heal differently.

Your before photo shows shape and nipple position differences, while still present post op, appear more symmetrical.

Revisions can be helpful but also have risks which should be discussed further with your plastic surgeon.

Hello your breasts are very in good looking you dont need to change and a second surgery because before the surgery you had small assymmetry.

Thank you for your question. Looking at the photos you have provided I do believe your breasts are different. Your creases are slightly off, the one breast looks slightly bigger then the other side pre operatively. Therefore if they used the same size implant on both sides you would still be off. If it's bothersome you could definitely try to correct sizing with adding a slightly larger implant to one side. I would suggest speaking with your surgeon in detail and following their recommendations. Best of luck to you.

You can get the operative report to make sure both are 400 cc implants(which I would think they would be). You can also check the implant card.
I think what you are noticing is the details of nipple position and the bottom border of the breast (IMF fold). If you look at the preop photos you will notice your left nipple was slightly higher and the breast tissue you have on each breast is different (95% of women). Implants of the same size will only magnify the difference between the two breasts....
Wait it our for anther 6 months and then compare and contrast between the two sides of what you like in each and what you don't like. Then make a decision! Best of Luck!

Your question suggests that different size implants may have been used. Easy enough to ask your surgeon. But I agree the difference should not be that much.

Quite often, breasts are similar but not perfectly symmetrical even after augmentation. Your breasts are not exactly the same preoperatively. Based on your photographs, the left nipple is higher, and the left breast fold is lower than the right. Those differences are improved but still present postoperatively. You are doing all of the right things by discussing your concerns with your surgeon.

When I look at your preop photo there are a few things I see. Your IMFs (inframammary fold) or folds underneath the breast are not at the same level. The right breast fold is higher than your left breast fold. The areola (pigmented skin around your nipple) are also in different positions and not completely symmetric. Lastly, your left breast is larger than your right breast before the surgery. Your case is a difficult one given what I just mentioned above. From what you mentioned in your question it appears that you received 400cc implants in both breasts, and you are concerned about that left breast being too full compared to the right will be my assumption? I don’t believe your surgeon “failed” or chose different implant sizes in the OR (however I was not there in your surgery) It appears that you had these subtle asymmetries before your surgery and when patients get breast augmentation those subtle asymmetries can become more noticeable. Your left breast was already larger than the right before surgery and after adding 400cc of volume to both breasts your left breast will still be larger in relation to the right. I think you have a good result in my humble opinion but if this bothers you I totally understand that because you are correct the left breast is larger. I would wait the full year to allow everything to fully settle and mature and schedule an appointment with your plastic surgeon and bring up your concerns. The likely course of action is to place a larger implant into the right breast but 410cc implant is not large enough (or a big enough difference) in my opinion. Your preop photo shows that one breast is somewhat larger, so it will still be larger with the same size implants in both.
