This will depend on the final results you want, but half a syringe may be enough. You may have swelling 1-2 weeks after lip fillers. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject the lips to prevent bruising.I hope this helps.
Hi and thanks for your question. Yes, half a syringe would most likely be enough for you. Your lips are not small, so for the very subtle enhancement that you sound like you are seeking, that will be fine. I would probably suggest a soft HA filler like Juvederm. Results are natural and soft to the touch with good duration at around 6 to 8 months. Hope that helps.
Dear lips1011,it depends on your goals. Based on your photo, you look like a great candidate for lip augmentation. I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns.I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections. Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months if done correctly.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Good morning. Thanks for sharing your concerns. I typically start my patients at 1 syringe. The risk with half a syringe is the impression of under- correction and not being able to achieve the patient's desired goal. You need a formal consultation to identify your goals and discussed options. Good luck, Dr. ALDO
Your lips are quite full, and depending on your goals, starting with 1/2 syringe for just the upper lip sounds very reasonable. More important than the brand or amount, is the approach & training of your physician injector.
This requires an exam and a discussion of your specific goals with you looking in a mirror. I find patients often try to stretch the result that is achievable from small amounts of filler instead of purchasing the right amount, usually purely for budget reasons. In those situations, I require the patient to be very specific about what she wants in order to be on the same page and also to allocate the product properly to the areas of greatest concern. This sometimes means we can't treat a desired area without the patient purchasing more filler. Half a syringe (0.5 cc, presumably, assuming we are talking about a 1cc syringe of a filler like Juvederm) is often only sufficient to augment the upper lip if the patient has a thin lip. You can always start conservatively with a small amount (assuming the surgeon is willing to inject half a syringe or has smaller syringes available) and then add more later if you are not satisfied.
Half a syringe may be enough for your lips depending on the look you are going for. You can always have only a small amount, or even less than half a syringe injected and then just add more during the same visit if you feel like you need more. It is always easier to add filler than it is to remove it. Most surgeons Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Plastic Surgery@drjohnsonlee
Begin with 1/2 syringe; you can always add more later. You can accomplish a lot either with 1/2 syringe if filler is injected on a proper plane rather than simply to inflate the lips. Good luck!
You can always start by using 1/2 of a syringe for your upper lip and always add more if you feel like you need to. Good luck from New York City
Filler for the lip can be used to improve lip volume and facial harmony. You should use a full syringe and in fact we only provide them as a whole syringe as they cannot be split between patients. I would recommend 60% of volume for the upper and 40% for the lower.
