Can blepharoplasty procedure be done with someone who has permanent eyeliner?

I have permanent eyeliner (tattoo) and I want to have my eyes done (blepharoplasty-upper and lower). Is it going to be okay to get the procedure done even though I have the tattoo eyeliner on my upper and lower eyelids?

There should be no issue doing an upper and lower lid bleph with permanent eyeliner. The only time there may be a problem, if the liner extends upward on the upper eyelid laterally, then a portion may be included in the lateral portion of the incision.

Generally having permanent eyeliner will have no effect on successful eyelid surgery.  An experienced and talented surgeon will assess whether the eyeliner will unmask some pre-existing asymmetry and will plan accordingly.

Yes either upper or lower blepharoplasty can still be done successfully in someone who has permanent eyeliner. On occasion, depending on position of the eyeliner, it may be possible that the eyeliner has to be retouched later.

There is eyeliner and their is eyeliner. So details matter. Generally the eyeliner does not interfere with blepharoplasty. Do you homework on the surgeon and see someone who specializes in offering aesthetic eyelid surgery.

Upper and lower blepharoplasty after eyelid tattooing. There should be no problem doing this for an experienced surgeon.

The blepharoplasty incisions in the upper eyelid are in the crease and in the lower lid just below the eyelashes or on the inner surface. Since the tattoos are near the eyelashes they aren't significant for upper blepharoplasties though they make look wider after surgery. For the lower eyelids if the incision is made on the inner surface the tattoo is irrelevant. If the incision is on the lower eyelid skin it may be okay depending on the width of the tattoo.

Having permanent eyeliner does not preclude you from having either upper or lower blepharoplasty. The tattoo pigments do not interfere with making the incisions or healing.
