I had my Nasolabial folds injected w Restylane last Friday. My face looked awesome afterwards however now less than a week later I feel as if the crease is slightly coming back? Could the doctor have massaged too much? Did I smile/laugh too much the days following my procedure??

Answer: Restylane in Nasolabial folds move from smiling too much after procedure? Thank you for your question. Smiling would not move your filler. The fact that you really loved your filler injections for few days after treatment signifies that you liked it more when the treated area was swollen. You can always return to your injector to have more filler added to achieve your desired result. Best of Luck!

Answer: Filler Results Influenced By Swelling The results you are seeing now have nothing to do with anything you did wrong. The final results of hyaluronic acid filler are never seen immediately, rather they take a couple of days before you will see the full effect. The filler itself attracts water and will inflate over a period of a few days and there is swelling immediately following that can last for 1-2 weeks which will affect the look. The look you were pleased with was influenced by swelling and now that your swelling has subsided, you realize you liked the fuller look better. This is certainly something that happens and I am sure you doctor will have no issue adding more filler if warranted. I would advise following up and expressing your concerns.
