Half a syringe restylane non-surgical nose job 6 mo ago - today I realized all of the filler is almost gone. (photos)

The permanent fillers are a significant risk.  Lumps and bumps that are easy to manage with hyaluronic acid fillers can not be resolved when the filler is permanent.  Six months of benefit for a 1/2 syringe is very good.  More filler may hold up longer.  However, I really think the filler should be placed based on what you need and not over filled so it might hold up longer.  If you liked what you had, I encourage you to renew your service.

Hi Morgan. Fillers used for a non-surgical nose job typically last anywhere from 6 months to 1 year, so it's not unusual that your filler has dissolved. Restylane is not my top choice for this procedure, so it is possible that with a more appropriate filler your results may last a little bit longer. I think there is a good possibility of achieving your goals with the right filler and appropriate technique. Make sure you find an experienced injector as this are requires a good deal of technical skill and knowledge of anatomy. Best wishes.

Hi Morgan. Not sure what type of filler was used for you, but we normally use Radiesse for longer duration.  6-12 months would be expected.  See the below link for before and after photos.

Voluma or Juvederm are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results, which will determine how much filler is needed. Best, Dr. Emer

More and more patients are requesting filler injection to camouflage irregularities and asymmetries in the nose. If injected into the precise and safe anatomic locations (midline and deep), excellent results can be obtained. I think you had a very nice initial camouflage of the dorsum, though as expected around 6-9 months re-injection will be necessary. 
HA fillers like Restalyne and Juvederm are excellent for nasal injections. Voluma has a high G prime making it "harder" and not as ideal for nasal injection though it does have persistence of up to 2 years. I strongly recommend against injecting silicone or permanent fillers into the nose.
Please consult with a plastic surgeon who is comfortable with comprehensive nasal analysis and both rhinoplasty and the anatomy of nasal injections.

Thank you for your question. Restylane in the nose typically lasts 4-6 months. If you want a longer lasting result you can have Radiesse injected. However, Radiesse can be permanent when done correctly. It typically lasts 1.5 years in nose and some of the improvement can stay permanently. The results shown in your photos are beautiful, so I think the half syringe was not an under treatment, however I am not surprised it has disappeared, based on which filler was used. Restylane is a lightweight hyaluronic acid filler that can provide very natural results, however it usually only lasts 4-6 months. Radiesse is a filler more commonly used for non-surgical nose augmentation and it lasts longer - usually 6 months to a year. I would return to your doctor and express your concerns as well as ask them their rationale behind choosing Restylane for your augmentation.

What you need to have is Radiesse filler, which can be permanent when done properly. Furthermore, this filler will last 1.5 minimum even if it fades away. typically, some of the improvement stays permanently especially on the nose. Restylane/juvederm not the right filler
