2 months ago I cut my shin badly stepping in an open drain hole. ER,10 stitches and scrapes and here's what's left. Flat scar, just red and incredibly noticeable! There's a lack of pigment in large area around it where shallower scraping healed. I'm fully healed and using sunscreen. To help lighten the red scar, I'm considering laser scar treatment -vascular laser. Will this reduce appearance? How much longer do I need to wait to begin these treatments? Any other option besides laser?
