Why do I have a hard lump above my incision one month after retouch lipo?

Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can fly within 24 to 48 hours after liposuction surgery. However, car or airplane travel should be avoided to prevent the risk of blood clots in the legs. I wish you all the best.

Liposuction is best performed on focal trouble areas for patients who are of normal body weight, or are only modestly overweight.  Unfortunately patients who are significantly overweight are unlikely to see a major improvement in their overall body contour.  

The lap band itself is not a problem with liposuction.  If you tell the plastic surgeon that you have a port they can avoid it during the procedure.  If you have the right amount of fat and the appropriate skin texture, you should have perfectly good results.

I'm not really sure of the relationship of liposuction to the pain you're experiencing. This is something you should work through with your plastic surgeon. If you have lost confidence get another opinion. You might need to see an orthopedic surgeon.

It is typically safe for Diabetics to have liposuction as long as the diabetes is controlled.  Your best bet would be to get surgical clearance from your medical doctor or endocrinologist before preceeding.

Complications can happen from liposuction, typically the final results are seen 3-6 months sometimes longer after liposuction.  I suggest following your physicians recommendations or seeing someone experienced in revision surgery for a second opinion.  Best, Dr. Emer.
