Why do I have a hard lump above my incision one month after retouch lipo?

I agree with my plastic surgery colleagues. Of course, see your surgeon. It would be irresponsible to not recommend that.I tell all my liposuction patients they should expect to feel a little hard and lumpy, especially early after liposuction. This usually always resolves by itself. Usually starts getting better around six weeks.  When I went to plastic surgery school, we were taught to not revise scars for a minimum of a year.  When I do liposuction revisions, I insist on waiting a minimum of six months.Hope that helps.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

Lumps after liposuction constitute swelling in tissue and or scaring.  It all disappears with time.  You can massage if you wish but it all does leave.   My Best,  Dr C
