Will coolsculpting ruin my BBL results?

Lift is a big procedure, but you are now 10 weeks post-operative and
essentially healed. Since the saddle bag area is adjacent but
separate from the buttock area you should be able to have
CoolSculpting of your outer thighs when you are 12 weeks
post-operative. CoolSculpting uses cryolipolysis to freeze fat cells
so that they begin to die. However, it only exerts this effect on the
area over which the applicator has been placed. Therefore, treating
your saddle bags should not affect the BBL results. That said, it is
important to check with your surgeon when it is okay to do so. The
BBL treatment removes fat from one area and transfers it to another.
There is a chance that fat was taken from the saddle bag area. If
that is the case, your surgeon would want you to wait possibly six
months or longer before having CoolSculpting there.

Please
note that it may take two to three sessions of CoolSculpting, spaced
about two to three months apart, to get the results you want,
although if the outer thigh isn’t too big, one treatment often
suffices. It will take about three to six months for those results to
be apparent. Please find a board-certified dermatologist to evaluate
you for CoolSculpting so that you can finish sculpting your figure in
time for summer's bikinis.

Hi anon45092.  Precise applicator placement and sizes will help avoid any changes to your BBL in general.  CS should not be undertaken over a recent scar until full healing has occurred (approx 12 months).  Your CS provider will massage immediately after CS applicator removal to help all treated fat cells to die off--no studies show that additional massage is beneficial.  Consider seeing a certified CS provider that has had the advanced training provided by Coolsculpting University. Best wishes,

if there is fat in the area coolsculpting can be done and it will only enhance your surgical outcomes.  I would add vanquish and exilis/cellutone for even better outcomes.  Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question.  You should be fine to have Coolsculpting in the saddle bag region.  I would go have your Coolsculpting done in a Plastic Surgeon's office and make sure you visit with the Plastic Surgeon for the assessment prior to proceeding to make sure it can be done safely given your surgical history.

Thanks for your question.  What did you have done with the BBL and where? If it was in the same areas as the CoolSculpting that you want, I would recommend that you have your BBL treatments completed and then go ahead with the other.  CoolSculpting will treat your fat and that should have little impact on what the BBL was used for – which may have been for tightening.

To avoid freezing off the fat you just had applied for a BBL, I'd advise making sure the CoolSculpting applicator is not placed on your buttocks! Other than that, CoolSculpting will not have an effect on your BBL. It only removes fat from the areas that are targeted during treatment. If you want your saddlebags removed, it will probably take at least three sessions. Your dermatologist can massage you after each treatment to optimize results or give you a Zimmer Z-wave radial pulsed therapy massage, which gives about 50% better results than manual massage. Hi anon45092- I typically recommend that my surgical patients wait 30-60 days post-surgery before beginning a CoolSculpting treatment.  It seems you are past your recovery period, just be sure to consult with your surgeon that any swelling and inflammation has gone down from your surgery and you are off anti-inflammatory medications before you begin your treatment.  Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who is CoolSculpting certified to see if you are an ideal candidate. My Best, Dr. Basile

Hi anon45092, thank you for your question.  One of the great things about CoolSculpting is that it targets specific bulges and treats only the targeted area without affecting surrounding tissue.  We would treat the saddle bag area using the CoolSmooth Pro applicator.  Only the saddle bags will be reduced in size by this treatment. No other part of the body will be affected whatsoever.
