How long do I have to wear the compression garment after faceTite?

We usually have patients wear the compression garment for 48-72 hours after the procedure. We do an in Office check up at 24 hours and change the dressing. After 3 days the garment is only worn at home and overnight for the first week. After 1 week there should be no limitations or wound care required. Most patients are back to work by 4-5 days.

The length of how long a compression garment has to be wore after a facetite depends on the surgeon that preformed the procedure. Most surgeons recommend  to wear it all the time for 48 hours and then for 12 hours per day ( evening and night) for additional 5 days. Other surgeons recommends the patients to wear it all day for 5 days in a row.

Our office recommends wearing a compression wrap as much as possible for the first week.  A minimum of continuous round-the-clock for the first 72 hrs and then 12 to 16 hrs daily for the remainder of the first week.Mario J. Imola, MD, DDS, FRCSC, FACS.

At my practice, I recommend wearing the compression garment for 48 hours and then only at night for 5 to 7 days (until most of the swelling has resolved). This seems to work well. Most of my patients go back to work after 4 to 5 days. 

I will typically recommend that my patients wear the facial garment for 3-5 days, depending on their level of swelling.

I typically have patients wear a tighter wrap for the first night and then an elastic type headband at night time for several weeks as tolerated. This helps accelerate the results, which will keep improving for 6-12 months.

I use the compression for longer periods if I perform liposuction of the area which I commonly do.  It is important not to have fluid accumulate in the area.

I wrap the face and neck and place a Marina-brand compression support dressing for the first night.  I then recommend patients wear it for the next 2 months at night whenever possible.  Your results keep improving up to 6 months out.  We have had a high patient satisfaction rate with facetite and necktite using this radio-frequency device and following this protocol.
