Oral steroids 7 days post cheek lift and facetite for swelling?

Swelling post facetite could be significant and could last up to two weeks. Oral steroids helps to improve facial swelling in most cases. Patients with significant swelling that doesn't respond to steroids may have body with slow healing abilities.Patients should follow up the post-surgical instructions of the surgeon that performed the facetite. 

Relative to invasive procedures, swelling after Facetite is generally mild and occasionally moderate in severity.  If your goal is to reduce the swelling to negligible asap, I would recommend extending the period of time the compression garment is worn and continue to cool the treated site.  Oral steroids can help with the edema as well and a tapering short course is well tolerated without complications in the majority of patients.  Mario J. Thank you for your question. The swelling is likely due to inflammation from your procedure plus the tumescent anesthesia. You could try several lymphatic massages and/or acoustic wave therapy but the clock is also ticking. The steroids should help to quell the inflammation. Even if you do the steroids, it wouldn't be a bad idea to still do a series of lymphatic massages or acoustic wave therapy.
