Beach trip 8 weeks po TT; will I be OK as far as swelling? (Photos)

Question

I have a beach trip planned at 8 weeks po tummy tuck, MR. Drainless w PTS. I have had a very good and fairly easy recovery. I have been getting lymphatic draining massage and following my PS instructions to a T. My question, do you think my swelling will be controlled enough for me to wear a bikini during my 3 day trip? I have provided a 5 day post op and 4 week post op pic to show where I am currently! I am 4 weeks post op right now! Thanks in advance for any information!

Thanks for your inquiry and pictures.  You are getting a nice result.  I do not see any reason you could not enjoy your beach trip at eight weeks post-op in a bikini.  I recommend you disuss with your plastic surgeon your overall activity restrictions like how heavy your luggage can be or how aggressively you participate in sports.  Keep the scar protected from UV rays. Otherwise, have fun!

You are looking great 4 weeks out from your tummy tuck!You shouldn't have any issues at the beach two months after your tummy tuck.I always advise my patients to wear a lot of sunscreen to cover their scars (including belly button especially).Thanks for sharing!

You may still have some swelling at 8 weeks, everyone heals differently. Be sure that your incision is completely covered and protected from the sun for at least a year as your scar is healing. Good luck!

Wow your results look great.  Based on the photos, you don't seem to have any issues and it looks like you are healing pretty well.  After 6 weeks you should be fine with going back to regular activities and lifting so a beach trip at 8 weeks is not out of the question.  Speak with your board certified plastic surgeon and get his approval just to be on the safe side of things.  Best of luck, Dr. Michael Omidi.
