Reverse tummy tuck surgeons. Where are all of your pictures?

Reverse tummy tuck is a type of tummy tuck that in stead of creating a traditional large "C section like scar" in the lower back of the abdomen, it places it underneath the breast fold to "hide it" and avoid an scar bellow the belly button. What people doesn't know is the reverse tummy tick scar is NOT hidden in between the breasts (cleavage area). People also doesn't know that scars in the lower aspect of the middle of the chest ( cleavage area) tend to heal hypertrophic or as a keloid, which is very very aesthetically unpleasant.On top, since a any tummy tuck scar is closed on tension, the reverse tummy tuck scar in between the breasts tends to heal even more hypertrophic or with large keloids. Therefore, the face that that scar is very difficult to heat when wearing small two piece bedding suits or dresses with cleavage made this technique obsolete ( defeats the initial purpose: to have a tummy tuck with "hidden" scar).  Nowadays there are very few doctors that still do this jurassic non-aesthetically pleasant technique of tummy tuck. 

The only ones that I have done have been on patients that had tummy tucks before and the skin in the upper abdomen is still more loose than they would like.  If we re-raised those tissues and pulled down again, there belly button scar They also typically already have a breast incision there.  The incisions should never come all the way to midline and touch.  The results are great after three months but in the first couple months, the fold looks a little funny because you have to anchor stitches down to the top of rib or muscles to keep it in place.  Maybe you could share a picture of what concerns you have and someone could better address what your scenario might be.  Hope this helps.-JGH

Thank you very much for your question.As you are finding out, the reverse tummy tuck is not a very common procedure.  Many plastic surgeons do them, but not many people have "done many" because it's just not nearly as common as a traditional tummy tuck.If you are having trouble finding one with reverse tummy tuck pictures, then it may be best to consult with a doctor who does them, and who has pictures of different types of tummy tuck (mini, traditional, fleur de lis).  If you like their results with those variations, then they are likely skilled enough to give you a reverse tummy tuck result you'll be happy with.  Best of luck!
