I am going to consider an upper blephroplasty. My bigger than left is bigger than my right. Is a much larger, a symmetry, a side effect of this type of procedure? How long is the recovery time if there is a symmetry does it eventually correct itself?

Upper eyelid surgery can improve asymmetry, but it depends on why your eyes look uneven.
Common causes include:
Different amounts of eyelid skin (blepharoplasty helps)
Brow position differences (may need brow support, not just eyelid skin removal)
Mild eyelid ptosis (the eyelid margin sits lower — this needs ptosis repair, not just bleph)
Is Asymmetry a Side Effect?
Some asymmetry is normal early on because each side heals differently. Most swelling-related unevenness improves steadily.
Recovery Timeline (Typical)
1–2 weeks: most bruising/swelling improves
6–12 weeks: eyelids look much more “settled”
3–6 months: final refinement and scar maturation
Key Point
If the “bigger eye” is due to ptosis or brow asymmetry, a bleph alone may not fully correct it and could sometimes make the difference more noticeable. That’s why a proper exam is important.
I’d recommend a consultation with a qualified, board-certified oculoplastic surgeon or plastic surgeon experienced in eyelids to determine whether you need bleph alone vs bleph + ptosis repair.
