Don’t want a tummy tuck, will lipo 360 with J-plasma be enough? (Photos)

Question

I’m 25 and have never had any pregnancies. I’m wanting to have the lipo360 procedure done but am terrified that I will be told I need a tummy tuck. I have very minimal stretch marks to my lower abdomen (you can barely even see them) and I’ve had the same lower flab my entire life even when I’ve been at my healthiest and working out. I’m 5’3 and currently weigh 145. Will lipo360 with J-Plasma be enough for me? Should I lose some weight and tone up to optimize my results?

Liposuction can be performed.  However, you must understand that no matter what liposuction technique is done, it is possible that your skin may hang and may require skin excision later.

Photos are always insufficient, even when they are relatively good like yours. An in person exam is necessary to assess skin elasticity. By history though, I don't think it would imprudent to try liposuction and J Plasma. An experienced surgeon and excellent post op care with tissue massage will give you the best shot at achieving your goals without skin removing surgery.

Your best result would be with a tummy tuck and the scar could be positioned very low on your abdomen so that it could be hidden in swimsuits.  Liposuction, even with skin tightening, won't resolve the issue of excess skin.

I don’t think you need a tummy tuck and see no indication for having one.

Weight loss is probably first in order if you want to look better and feel better about yourself.

Otherwise you’re a good candidate for Liposuction. I personally view the torso as a single anatomic unit and treat the entire torso if I’m going to do abdominal liposuction. A full torso needs to include the back and under arms in addition to abdomen 360.

Leaving any area untreated will leave an unnatural fat distribution with the look of a partially treated torso.

It’s a bit like painting a house. It’s generally better if you paint all the walls.

Delivering quality liposuction results consistently is more difficult than most people believe.  liposuction results have massive differences based on who does the procedure.

For that reason patients need to put in a strong effort to find the most talented and experienced provider in their community.

Do that by having multiple in person consultations.

During consultations ask each provider to show their entire collection of abdominal liposuction. Ask specifically what areas are included and what areas are not included. This includes while reviewing before and after pictures. For example ask if the back is included or how far up on the back they typically stop. In my opinion the entire back and under arm needs to be included in order to not leave people wedge shaped.

Asked to provide her to show examples of their best work, average work and less than results.

Seeing a few selected example pictures which in fact are probably just the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like for that provider. It also does not give you confirmation of how many of these procedures that surgeon has performed.

And experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you 50 or more sets up before and after pictures. Highly experience providers will have hundreds or even thousands of abdominal liposuction before and after pictures.

After provider to find as many examples of patients with a very similar body characteristics to your own for you to review.

Lastly I recommend patients read all the reviews on all various physician review websites avoiding providers for that a significant number of justified negative reviews.

The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than an abundance of positive reviews.

Do not schedule surgery or make a deposit until you finished all scheduled consultations.

When in doubt slow down and schedule more consultations.

Liposuction it’s permanent and irreversible.

To minimize the chance of having an undesirable outcome which includes being left disfigured patients need to put in serious groundwork to find the most competent provider.

I purchased the Renuvion or JPlasma device when it first came out and used it for about a year.

I could not see any skin tightening by subjective or objective measurements and neither could any of my patients. I have since sold the device and do not believe it creates any significant skin tightening.

Look for the most experienced and talented provider not what equipment they use.
