I heard after BBl surgery,we have to walk every hour for at least 20 minutes the first 24 hours.Which means i wouldn't be able to go to sleep for more then 40 mins at a time. How true is this.
Answer: BBL recovery Dear Gorgeous762828, I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area. Answer: How many hours after BBL will I be able to rest/sleep? Each board-certified plastic surgeon will have his/her own list of protocols to follow post-operatively. Suggest that you become familiar with those recommended guidelines so that you heal successfully and within a reasonable recovery period. Some patients order the pregnant tummy mattress with a hole in it where you can place your buttocks to keep pressure off them. This mattress can be placed on the bed to offer some comfort. Others cut a hole in a lawn chair so they can be comfortable. You need to keep moving to decreasing the risk of developing blood clots after surgery. I advise my patients to walk for 5 minutes every hour.

Answer: Sleep deprivation is not good for recovery. The postoperative care after BBL differs from doctor to doctor. Early mobilization is of paramount importance. Sleep deprivation is not good after surgery. So first day you walk after 4-5 hours after operation and one more walk before you sleep. And you may rest after, with the BBL pillow, that will help avoid pressure on the fat graft.

Answer: Walking every hour No it is not necessary to walk 20 minutes every hour after BBL. You need to get your rest. you do want to shift your position so that you are not in one position for more than one hour at a time. This means turning from your back to side to side and even on your belly. Please consider a virtual consultation with a high definition BBL expert for more accurate advice.

Answer: How gossip gets around. I’m not sure where you heard that story but it’s a new one for me. I’ve heard of it famous but less so talented plastic surgeon who had a TV program about himself who was famous for making patients get outside and walk around the block in the middle of the night right after surgery. Perhaps you’ve heard stories from some of his endeavors. This particular individual claim to be too busy to take his board certification. People interested in having a BBL should schedule a few in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have experience with the procedure. During the consultation you’ll get a quality assessment and better understanding of the procedure including the recovery. I generally want my patience to take it easy as much as possible for the first few weeks after the procedure and do gentle exercise like walking as tolerated. It sounds to me like you’re getting your information from an inappropriate source. Perhaps via the Internet. Multiple in person consultations is your best source of information and will also give you your best chance at vetting surgeons choosing the most appropriate one for your procedure.
