I have a BBL schedule next week and my lab results came back today from my pcp. My PTT is 39 when it used to be 28 back in November 2021. My Monocytes Absolute is 0.94 I took 1-2 table spoons of SSS Tonic and vitamin C for a month and women's multivitamin gummies... THAT'S ALL. I don't drink alcohol but my doctor asked if I was drinking or taking Tylenol and I don't take or do either of those. How can I fix this? Will I be denied surgery? Today is May 11th Surgery Day is May 18th

Answer: Lab results Renee, The first thing to do is repeat the labs. It is not uncommon for lab errors or even slight changes in our blood levels throughout the year. If you are not taking any supplements and have no other medical conditions, I bet the next test is closer to normal. Best wishes. Dr. Taranow

Answer: Blood tests and surgery Normally a plastic surgeon would order preop lab tests and they would receive a copy of the test when they became available. They would then review abnormal lab tests with the patient. Reviewing the lab tests with your plastic surgeon still remains the same but perhaps in this case you need to contact your plastic surgeon and let them know. Are you traveling for your procedure? If so I don’t recommend it. It’s better to stay local for elective surgical procedures have in person consultations, consult with Dumris providers before selecting and committing to surgery and having proper in person. Visits and availability if there are issues with the results or patients have complications. Perhaps you’re not but most people who have questions about lab tests on this forum I do are getting ready for surgery in another country. The answer is still the same. Contact your plastic surgeon and review the blood tests with them. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
