Hi, I’ve had consults with several plastic surgeons in my area and believe I’ve made my final decision about which one to go with. What’s the correct process to let the other surgeons know I won’t be going with their office, are there any norms or expectations on this front? Thanks!
Answer: There is no standard protocol but it's great to be courteous! Thank you for your question regarding the standard process to let other surgeons know you're going with someone else. You typically do not need to contact the office to let them know you're proceeding elsewhere. However, you could shoot them a call or an email to give them an update if you wish. That's very kind and considerate of you to ask this question. Best of luck with your future procedure!

Answer: Mommy Makeover Thanks for your question. That is very considerate of you. Just give the offices a call and let them know you have chosen a different surgeon and why. It will be appreciated. Best wishes

Answer: Choosing your surgeon Choosing your surgeon is one of the most critical parts of your plastic surgery journey. You have to feel comfortable with them because they will have your health and results in their hands. Most patients see 2 or 3 plastic surgeons before choosing one. Once you choose one (make sure they are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery), if one of the others’ staff members calls you to follow-up you can let them know you have already booked with another surgeon. Don’t worry, we don’t mind ;)

Answer: Notification You are so thoughtful. Most people would not even think of it. There are no expectations that you explain to the other doctors that you went with someone you are comfortable with.If they follow up with you, just explain that you chose another doctor for the procedure.Hope this helps

Answer: Final Decision I personally think that it is a great idea to have more than 1 consultation so that you feel 100% comfortable in your choice of surgeons. A quick email or phone call, explaining that although you "appreciate the time and information that was provided in your consultation", you "have decided to proeed with another surgeon". If you feel comfortable and would like to provide any constructive feedback, this is often appreciated, especially if there were any frustrations with the scheduling and consultation process. In my practice, the consultation fee that was paid can be used for other services such as products or aesthetic procedures such as fillers, botox and lasers in our medspa, so clarify whether or not this is an option. Ultimately, it's important to be an informed consumer. Best of luck in your aesthetic journey!
