Bulging tummy 7 months post surgery (tummy tuck, breast lift, liposuction)

It is difficult to determine the cause of bulging in your upper mid-section without a physical examination and knowing more details about your surgery. For these reasons, it would be a good idea to return to your surgeon to discuss your concerns.

I understand your concern. Based on your photos, it looks like you have good results. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

I would suggest going back to your surgeon to see how far up the muscle repair was done and if it is holding well. You did not post side views, so I cannot tell on these photos.

The contour could be related to a few things. If you were overweight prior to surgery and have not lost weight then the contour is likely from internal/visceral fat. This is the fat located behind the muscle wall and cannot be addressed through a tummy tuck or liposuction but will decrease with weight loss. The bulge could be related to failure of the muscle wall or excess subcutaneous fat. I encourage you to visit with your surgeon for an evaluation.

Your problems are related to excess visceral or intra-abdominal fat.
When patients have this they will experience increased intra abdominal pressure with muscle tightening from a tummy tuck.
Weight loss is the only way to improve your outcome and the symptoms you are experiencing.
