When there is excess cartilage and bone at the nasal bridge, this is called a dorsal hump. This can certainly be improved with rhinoplasty without the addition of a nasal implant. However, if you are looking for a less invasive option, you could try nonsurgical rhinoplasty with dermal filler. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty would be able to create a straighter profile and frontal view for your nose. The limitation with nonsurgical rhinoplasty is that it can only add volume, but can not take any away. By slightly raising the bridge of your nose above the hump it will camouflage the hump. While there are a variety of approaches and techniques employed by various surgeons, it is up to you to do your due diligence to find a rhinoplasty specialist in order to achieve the best results possible. This can be done right in the office in a matter of minutes. No implant needed. It should not be too complicated.

The only time a graft would be considered, is if rasping the bump would make the bridge too under projecting. It is always better to avoid grafts where possible since, overtime, they may shift and/or Show through the skin.

If you're looking to augment upper part of your bridge below your eyebrows, then you'll need an implant. Otherwise you can just shave down the dorsal hump. Osteotomies placed and the nasal bones will probably be required to close the open roof created from the hump removal itself.
