Hi, I am looking into getting an osteotomy to reduce the width of my nose. However, I am happy with my nose bridge, it suits my face. Would an osteotomy lower my bridge height?

Osteotomies designed to narrow the nasal bridge would not reduce height. On occasion, they may increase slightly the height.

You also need to bear in mind that there is always a relationship between the appearance of the tip and bridge. When one of them changes the other one appears to change also. With a narrower bridge you may get the impression that the tip has become wider.

In general, a computer simulation can help you evaluate these aspects.

Osteotomy and bridge height: and osteotomy alone should not lower the bridge height. in fact when the bones are brought in, narrowing the base of the pyramid the bridge height may rise slightly.
